Steps Toward Healing:

1. Connect

Change generally cannot be accomplished alone. I see myself not only as a therapist but as a coach and guide as we embark on building a foundation of trust and safety allowing you to explore and resolve your internal conflicts. 2. Learn

Learn about the Limbic part of the brain (Fight/ Flight / Freeze) and its impact on how you feel. We will utilize mindfulness practices to unearth “automatic thoughts.” When we are not fully aware of our thoughts they are generally in control of our behaviors and ultimately our lives.

3. Practice

I have been in practice for over 20 years and am certified in a myriad of clinical interventions. I tailor each intervention to your specific needs optimizing your outcomes. I generally utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). We begin by identifying how each negative thought leads to unwanted behaviors and emotions. We then systematically and consistently practice tools to change our thoughts thus improving how we think, feel, and act.

4. Grow

Over time we increase the number and types of tools in your toolbox, practicing them both in session and through homework assignments, consistently reinforcing awareness, control, and building confidence.

5. Live

Get back into your life knowing that you can navigate any trigger, challenge, or circumstance with the tool kit that you’ve built. By the time we finish our work together, you’ll feel confident knowing that you have everything needed to self-regulate and navigate life at your fingertips.
